Window on Warrington is an exciting dance performance project that was initially designed as part of the 2013 Rugby League World Cup. In partnership with Culture Warrington, two site specific dance performances were held in Warrington Town Centre to celebrate the cultures of Warrington and Samoa, in recognition of hosting the Samoan team throughout the World Cup.
The performances involved 500 dancers aged between 3-87 from local community groups, schools and colleges with a company of professional dancers and attracted crowds of over 4000 people.
Further funding has been secured to enable the Window on Warrington Project to continue. Commemorating World War 1, three smaller site specific performances will be designed at various venues across the town and will also involve dancers from local community groups, schools and universities to educate the participants on World War 1 and use local stories as part of the performances.
