The Warrington Wolves Charitable Foundation and English Half Marathon organisers – Contest Sports, have joined forces for the inaugural ‘Foundation Family Mile’ sponsored by Assura, on Sunday 5th June at Walton Hall and Gardens.
Everybody can enter, regardless of ability – run, skip or walk to the finish line. The first 500 participants will receive a limited edition medal and t-shirt, with all proceeds made from the race going direct to The Warrington Wolves Charitable Foundation with participants also encouraged to raise sponsorship.
The race kicks-off the Simon Grix Testimonial Fun Day which is FREE for all to attend. The Warrington Wolves players and of course Wolfie will be around throughout the day. As Simon’s nominated charity, The Foundation will deliver a range of activities throughout the day and there will be music and performances from local community groups. Kid’s Planet are supporting traditional games such as hook-a-duck and splat the rat. The whole day promises to be a fantastic event for the Warrington community.
Foundation Director Neil Kelly said
“It is an honour to have been nominated as Simon’s charity for his testimonial year and we are proud to have celebrated 10 fantastic years with him at Warrington Wolves. The family mile will be a great event as it allows everyone to get involved and challenge themselves; no matter what their age or ability. It is hoped that, in partnership with Contest Sports, we are able to leave a legacy and continue the Family Mile every year”.
